Lead Professional for Family Support, Multi-Agency Working and Safeguarding

Fixed term: 07 January 2019 – 31 August 2019

An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Professional for Family Support, Multi-Agency Working and Safeguarding, who will provide professional leadership as an integral member of the School’s Intervention and SENDCO Team to:

  • Direct and facilitate the development of safeguarding and child protection policies, training and procedures.
  • Assess and evaluate referrals and coordinate appropriate support for vulnerable students, parents and families.
  • Create strong working relationships with outside agencies to enable ‘wrap around’ support for the pupil and their families.
  • Under the general direction of the Headteacher, to take the ’lead’ in managing safeguarding issues within the school and undertake the role of a Designated Safeguarding Lead (as part of the Safeguarding Team).
  • Contribute at a strategic level to the planning, development and future direction of the school, including promoting and contributing to the school ethos and value.

The demands of the role are complex and ever changing and whilst the post holder will work under the general direction of the head, they will be expected to use initiative and prioritise effectively to ensure the pupil’s needs are met and legislation is adhered to. In this role a significant level of autonomy is required and the ability to make effective independent decisions.

The postholder will be qualified to degree level or equivalent, a professional Social Work qualification is desirable. They will also hold or be willing to undertake relevant safeguarding and disability training. The salary will be in the range of £28,221 – £30,756 subject to final job evaluation, this is a 32.5 hours per week position.

Part Time and Full Time Teachers to cover Maternity Leave

Full Time Position – fixed term from 07 January 2019 – 31 August 2019

Part Time Position (19.5 hours per week) – fixed term from 07 January 2019 – 30 November 2019

Opportunities have arisen for 2 enthusiastic, energetic, well organised teachers with a positive outlook, to teach pupils with severe and profound learning needs and some pupils with autism within the secondary department. Excellent communication skills, the ability to modify curricula to meet individual needs and aptitude to learn quickly are essential. Experience of working with pupils with autism or learning difficulties is an advantage. Good ICT skills are essential. The salary will be on the main pay scale and will be confirmed at interview.
